Project Spotlight: The Goatshed at Fairview

Project Spotlight: The Goatshed at Fairview

The story of Fairview Farm is a captivating journey through time, dating back to its establishment in 1693 as a working farm. A significant milestone occurred in 1699 when the first recorded evidence of wine production graced this historic estate.

Fairview has, over the centuries, forged a remarkable reputation for excellence in both wine and cheese production. Of particular note is their pioneering cheese factory, celebrated as the African continent's inaugural Carbon Neutral Cheesery, an accolade that truly sets them apart.

We're excited to contribute to Fairview’s enchanting tasting room, deli and  Goatshed restaurant with our beautifully handwoven basket lampshades. These lampshades are a harmonious addition to the already captivating ambiance of this wonderful destination.

The Goatshed

The Goatshed, Fairview's restaurant, offers delectable farm-style comfort cuisine in a charming setting that harmoniously melds contemporary art with antique elements.

We're proud to say that their divine restaurant, is adorned with various Ashanti Design shades. A testament to the power of collaboration and partnership, we must first acknowledge that none of this would have been made possible without the exceptional creative vision of Xperiencemakers Interior Architecture and Design Studio.

Within the establishment, they have artfully crafted captivating vignettes, such as the inviting corner that greets you upon your initial entry. Here, you'll find an elegant Bopah lampshade, and a glimpse of our Stari lampshades gracing the veranda in the distance:

Below, our patterned Okavango lights in different sizes hang beautifully above the eating tables:

Hanging over the counter/till point, we have a collection of our best-selling basket lampshades – the Bopah’s, Bopah Rangi and a big Stari lampshade:

The focal point at the end of the beautiful long veranda includes two of our black and natural patterned Stari lampshades handing either side of the Goat mural in front of beautiful arched windows:

The rest of the veranda has an eclectic mix of our Bopah lampshades, Bopah Rangi lampshades and Stari Lampshades:

Shop and Deli

For those acquainted with the venue, the highlight is undoubtedly the cheese tasting table, a prominent circular centre piece within the store, showcasing an assortment of the renowned Fairview cheeses available for sampling.

Above this enticing counter, you'll notice our elegant Voola lampshades hanging from rods. They are purely decorative, with no electrical elements:
